Last Tuesday evening, (May 3rd, 2011), local West Lancs 1st Division side Norcross & Warbreck FC travelled to the Giant Axe Ground, home of Lancaster City FC, to take on Burnley United FC in the final of the Presidents Cup.  The club had endured a barren sixty-six year run without winning Cup silverware.  Once again, our North Shore correspondent John 'Big shades' McNicholas was there to witness events and sincere thanks to him for providing the following report and pictures.

It's frankly unbelievable that Fleetwood Town FC have reached the play offs during their first season in the Blue Square Premier Division.  Whatever happens the club has done magnificently but they're now on the brink of football league status.  The first major hurdle is to get past AFC Wimbledon.  The first leg of the play offs takes place at Highbury Avenue this evening (Friday-19:45) before the away leg next Tuesday.  With the capacity of their ever improving ground now up to 5,000 the club have assured Fyldesport that anyone wishing to pay on the gate will gain admission.  In addition, AFC Fylde look to continue their climb up the footballing pyramid away at Chorley tonight where a win and a second successive promotion will take the Coasters into the Evostick Premier Division (KO 19:45).  Best of luck to to both clubs.  Get out and watch some local footie!

Courtesy of the committee, here are the provisional results from last night's  final programme of midweek matches.  The fixtures for Sunday are online.  Tables, fixtures and results now updated via the links to the left of the homepage.

Anyone interested in accessing our website statistics via the left hand menu may have seen that we're rapidly approaching 14 million page views.  In recent months, site traffic has increased dramatically and peaked yesterday with an all time high of almost 40,000 hits.  Unfortunately, on an uneventful end of season day like yesterday, 5,500 would have been the expected norm.  Sadly, the increase in hits is not down to our creative genius.  Instead, the site has been infiltrated by hackers who have embedded malicious scripts (I've no idea what I'm talking about) that have resulted in tens of thousands of spam E-Mails being sent from bfsfa.com/fyldesport.  Unsurprisingly, people without erectile disfunction are vociferously complaining to our website hosts who in turn, are threatening to take us down unless it can be fixed. Help!

Hi there, my name is Andrew Huckett and I run a Sunday League team in the Lincoln Sills and Beteridge Sunday League. Each year we go on a pre season tour and this year we voted on playing in blackpool. We require a friendly on both Saturday the 6th of August and sunday the 7th ideally in the afternoon on the saturday and again on the sunday. We are a Division 6 team so would not like to play anyone too good as we do not want to get thrashed everytime we play. It would be appreciated if you could get back to me as soon as possible as to whether this could be possible.  Sent By: Andrew Huckett, Phone Number: 07908969407 - Email Address: This email address is being protected from spambots. A closer-than-expected result at AFC Blackpool where Tower Lounge FC beat Division 3's Teamsport 90 4-2 to lift the Division 2 & 3 Cup.
