Sportspy Reports 2010/11

Last Sunday our friends from Blackpool TV were at Ballam Road, Lytham to record the Division 3 match between Hansom Cab FC and Teamsport 90 FC.  Seven goals to watch including some shocking defending for Cab's 4th.  Another entertaining video.  Click here  to see it.

At Boundary Park, Blackpool watching the Premier & Division 1 Cup quarter-final tie between Christ the King FC and Spindles FC.  Both sides were promoted from Divisions 2A and 2B respectively at the end of last season. Both were going well in Division 1 but gaining a Divisional Cup semi-final place would make for a great achievement.

In Division 3, home side Hansom Cab FC were entertaining FC Kingsfield at Ballam Road, Lytham St Annes.  Only a point separated them in the table at start of play.  A welcome return of the sunshine after three overcast Sundays in a row.

The twice re-arranged annual fixture between the representative squad of the Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Football Alliance and the Preston Sunday Football League is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, February 23rd at the ground of Blackpool Wren Rovers FC (

The Alzheimer's is kicking in as for the second time in recent weeks I turned up at the wrong ground to watch a match that wasn't even on the fixtures.  I then skulked back to a freezing cold Commonedge Road to look in on a number of games that were being played.
