Try and imagine it just for a second, it could happen to any of us.  One minute, you're a fit and healthy individual and the next your life and that of your family completely changes.  This recently happened to Blackpool FC football coach Gary Parkinson. Locked-in syndrome is a condition in which a patient is aware and awake but cannot move or communicate verbally due to complete paralysis of nearly all voluntary muscles in the body except for the eyes. It is the result of a brain stem lesion being damaged.  Local football character Matt Smith and friends are out to raise some funds for Parky through a testing cycle ride.  400 Fyldesport regulars *

Our friends at Fleetwood Town FC have contacted Fyldesport with news of some attractive corporate offers for BFSFA Clubs.  Good food, ale and a match ticket in the impressive new stand watching the Cods strive for Football League status.

With the boy moving up to 11-A-Side football that means 2:30pm kick offs on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to produce a full Sportspy Reports by 4pm on a Sunday afternoon anymore so they'll only appear on Sundays when there is no junior game.  A pity, as I've hardly missed a week since 2004.  However, I'll still be out watching locally with the camera and if I get the opportunity, I'll throw a few pictures on when I can.  Here are a few from last Sunday's Division 4 match between Fylde Coast Vets FC and DS Rovers FC.  The Vets are in the white and on this occasion, ran out easy winners.

At the Co-op Sports Club this morning watching the Division 4 league fixture between Blue Room FC and Philharmonic FC.  Both clubs were in their second season in Fylde Coast Sunday Football after first season disappointment.  The Blue Room FC shipped 186 goals last season and were looking to tighten up.
