The BFSFA is back!
Premier Division:
Armfield started the defence of their Premier Division trophy with a convincing 4-1 victory over newly promoted and Division 1 Cup Champions Sandyforth. AFC Belle Vue were welcomed to the Premier Division by The Albion FC who have recruited well this summer, The Albion took control from start to finish and came out with a very comfortable 7-0 win over AFC Belle Vue. No10 Alehouse beat Premier Division B Champions Foxhall 2-1 and looked really strong throughout the game.
League 1:
On common edge, Saddle, new to the BFSFA beat well fancied AFC Dunes 3-1, Dunes a very good footballing side, took a 1-0 lead but couldn't finish off a very determined Saddle FC team. 10-man AFC Broadwaters claimed a 2-2 draw against re-invented Marton Athletic. AFC Lytham started their first season in the BFSFA with a convincing 5-2 win over ex-premier division side Clifton Rangers. Blackpool Town, were beaten 5-1 by a very strong Carleton Athletic side and JDN pulled off a great 5-3 win against an established AFC Cleveleys team.
League 2:
New boys AFC Highfield and South Shore faced off on common edge, AFC going down to 10 men early on didn't effect them, they went on to win 9-3 in an impressive display. AFC Poulton beat 10-man Blackpool North 3-0. CMB United's first game vs Twirls FC (late addition to the BFSFA), resulted in a 3-1 loss for CMB, but with CMB being new to 11-aside football, this will be a great learning curve for the team. Two established teams in The Dickens (Formally Gardeners Arms) and Wyre Rangers, ended 3-1 to Wyre.
A very controversial game happened when rival teams - Bispham JFF Blades faced off against Bispham JFF Predators, ended with 10 yellow cards and 3 red cards and various off the ball incidents - the game ended with a 3-2 win for Predators.
